Boys Athlete of the Week (April 15, 2014): Tracy Smith, City, lacrosse( Handout / April 15, 2014 )
The senior attackman, a four-year starter and two-year captain, led the Knights (6-0) to two Baltimore City league wins last week -- including a 10-9 victory over defending league champion Poly on April 8. Smith scored five goals, including the game winner with one minute to play, and added an assist in the showdown against previously undefeated Poly. On Thursday, he totaled five goals and three assists in a comfortable win over Patterson. For the season, Smith has 27 goals and 11 assists. He maintains a weighted 4.25 GPA. He has been accepted to the University of Maryland's Honors College, Villanova and Kenyon College, among others. He wants to focus on academics in college and does not intend to play lacrosse.
