Girls Athlete of the Week (May 27, 2014): Sharon Dorsey, Western Tech, track and field( Karl Merton Ferron, Baltimore Sun / March 19, 2014 )
The senior All-Metro sprinter won two individual events and helped the Wolverines win two relays in the Class 2A state track and field championships Saturday. Dorsey won the 200-meter dash in 24.49 seconds and the 400-meter run in 55.24 seconds. She ran the first leg on the 4 x 800 relay team that set a Class 2A meet record, finishing in 9 minutes, 16.43 seconds. She also ran the first leg on the 4 x 200 relay that won in 1:41.75. Dorsey, who was the All-Metro indoor track Performer of the Year, has been part of 15 track state titles in her four years -- 10 individual and five relays. She has a 3.84 GPA and has signed to run for George Mason.
