Girls Athlete of the Week (May 20, 2014): Taylor Hensh, Marriotts Ridge, lacrosse( Handout / April 10, 2014 )
The senior midfielder scored 13 goals last week, including four in the final 16 minutes as No. 4 Marriotts Ridge came from behind to beat No. 10 Century, 8-7, to win the toughest bracket in the state playoffs, Class 3A-2A South Section I. Hensh, who also won several draws in that late run, finished with five goals, including the game winner. She also had four goals and an assist in the 13-10 regional championship victory over River Hill and four goals and three assists in the 19-3 state semifinal romp over then-No. 8 Hereford. Hensh, who also played soccer for the Mustangs, has 82 goals and 39 assists as well as 42 draw controls and 19 caused turnovers this season. An Under Armour All-American, she plays for the M&D Lacrosse Club and has signed with Maryland.
