The senior faceoff specialist dominated the entire season, but saved his best for last to lead No. 1 Boys' Latin to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference title and a perfect 18-0 season. In last Friday's 17-11 championship game win over No. 2 St. Paul's, Moreland won 23 of 29 faceoffs (79 percent) and scored three goals to help bring home the program's 10th title. With the Lakers leading 12-8 going into the fourth quarter, he scored two goals in 21 seconds -- winning consecutive faceoffs -- to put the game away. In last Tuesday's 16-10 semifinal win over No. 4 McDonogh, Moreland won 22 of 29 faceoffs. Moreland, a four-year varsity player headed to Johns Hopkins on a lacrosse scholarship, finished the season winning 280 out of 373 faceoffs (75 percent), scored six goals and had three assists.
