Boys Athlete of the Week (March 4, 2014): Jerell Cooke, Randallstown, basketball( Handout / February 10, 2013 )
The senior guard scored 26 points to lead the No. 5 Rams to a 69-64 win over New Town in last weeks Baltimore County championship game at Towson University's SECU Arena. It was the program's first county championship since 2007. Randallstown (20-3) rallied from a 10-point hafltime deficit behind Cooke, who scored 17 of his points in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer that broke a 58-58 tie with 2:29 to play. He also made three of four free throws in the final minute to secure the victory. Cooke has averaged 23 points per game this season and surpassed 1,000 career points in the win.
