Last season's All-Metro Softball Player of the Year has allowed only three runs this spring and is batting .513 with 19 RBIs for No. 1 Eastern Tech. The senior pitcher helped the Mavericks to three wins last week, including 8-0 over then-No. 4 and previously-undefeated Seton Keough, the top team in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference. She struck out eight and allowed two hits in seven innings while going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. She also had 12 strikeouts in a 15-2 win over Dulaney and two in two innings of a 23-0 win over Owings Mills. Cargile, who has a 3.1 GPA, plays club softball for the Wayne County Hurricanes and will pitch for Delaware next season.
