Boys Athlete of the Week (Nov. 20): Patrick Fisher, Hereford, soccer( November 19, 2013 )
The senior striker scored his third game-winning goal in the playoffs to give Hereford a 1-0 victory over Fallston Saturday for the Class 2A state championship, the No. 4 Bulls' first boys soccer title since 1989 and their first-ever outright title. In the 55th minute, Fisher outran two defenders and sent a left-footed, 15-yard shot into the right corner of the net. Fisher also scored in overtime to beat Oakland Mills, 2-1, in the state semifinals and in regulation to beat Eastern Tech, 2-1, in the regional semifinal. He scored five game winners -- three in overtime -- this season as the Bulls finished 15-3-3. Fisher, who has a 4.29 weighted GPA, led the Bulls with 14 goals and also had four assists.
