Outlook: The Gators have four seniors and seven juniors in the starting lineup, and they are talented enough to repeat as the Class 3A state champions. Reservoir should get a spark from Philipp Reichel, a junior exchange student from Germany.

10. River Hill

Coach: Matt Shagogue

Last season: 10-4-3, No. 15

Postseason: Class 3A East regional finalist

Outlook: With eight returning starters, the Hawks will look to make a run in the state playoffs. Senior forwards Jake Turney (10 goals, seven assists in 2012) and Zach Riso (11 goals, eight assists) should provide veteran leadership for River Hill this season.

11. Severna Park

Coach: Ryan Parisi

Last season: 18-2, No. 10

Postseason: Class 4A state finalist

Outlook: The Falcons will challenge again for Anne Arundel County, Class 4A East regional and state titles this season. Severna Park will be led by junior Daniel Kwon, who finished with 20 goals and had seven assists last fall, tying a school record for points.

12. Boys’ Latin

Coach: Michael Thomas

Last season: 14-5-1, No. 9

Postseason: MIAA B Conference champion

Outlook: Despite losing several key players to graduation, the Lakers should emerge as the favorite to defend their MIAA B Conference title. Boys’ Latin has another deep senior class this season, including goalkeeper Parker Yablon and midfielder Brian Becker.
