Coffin became one of the most dominant distance runners in the state in her high school career and capped it off with a great senior season that included repeating as state champion.
The Annapolis runner, who will compete for Providence next year, won the Class 4A state title in 17 minutes, 49.38 seconds. She was the first runner to finish in under 18 minutes in the state championship on the difficult Hereford course.
"That was my main goal this year, to win a state title again," Coffin said.
She also took the Anne Arundel County and Class 4A East region championships by huge margins, although the state race proved harder.
In that run, she needed to beat Walter Johnson's Abigail Green. Coffin hung with her for the first part of the race, jumped in front past the halfway point and ended a great high school career in style with a championship.
On Saturday, she finished 10th in the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships in San Diego with a time of 17:50.2.
