Glastonbury senior Reid Watson took over where last year's teammate Lindsay Crevoiserat left off, winning the CCC championship and the Class LL title. But Watson won the State Open title, too, something Crevoiserat didn't do last year (she was runner-up), outkicking Annmarie Tuxbury of Northwestern Regional-Winsted to win the rescheduled meet at Hammonasset State Park.
Led by freshman Courtney Akerly, the Tolland girls won their first Class M title, beating a quality team in runner-up Hillhouse-New Haven and joining the Tolland boys who won the Class MM championship.
Avon sophomore Rachael Rosow won her first state championship, in Class MM and her team was the runner-up.
The Simsbury girls, led by third-place finisher Sarah Mattison, joined the boys in sweeping the CCC championships.
