    • Worthington Valley in Owings Mills did sell the land to a developer and since the building was in terrrible condition as well as the grounds, the owners thought it best to sell the prime land.

Holes: 18

Course description: Links course with water on 17 of the 18 holes. Opened in 1997 as Greenfields. Rearchitected, expanded to a championship layout and renamed Deer Run in 1999. Each nine features three par 3s and two par 5s for the Par 70 course. The 12th hole, an island green, was nominated as the toughest hole on the Eastern Shore.

Tees: Blue - 6,105; White - 5,475; Black - 4,661; Red - 4,072 yards

Recommended best playing times: Call for tee times one week in advance

Time spacing at first tee on busy weekends: 8 minutes apart

Difficulty getting playing times on weekends: Not generally a problem with advanced tee time reservations

Cost Per Round: 18 holes weekday, $65 ride, 455 walk; 9 holes weekday, $35 ride or walk. 18 holes weekend, $75 ride, $65 walk; 9 holes weekend, $35 ride or walk.

Pro Shop: Clubs, balls, shirts, hats, jackets

Clubhouse: Custom club fitting, swing analysis, lessons, driving range, putting green, two practice holes, sand trap and chipping practice, deli, pub

Significant advantage/distance from men's tee boxes?: Ranges from 600 to 2000 yards difference. Red tees are generally placed in front of the water hazards

Benches and ball washers at women's tee boxes?: At the white tees

Bathrooms: Two on the course and in the clubhouse. Equal amenities in the clubhouse for men and women.

Comments: Don't let the yardage fool you. This is a challenging layout from the white and blue tees. Water comes into play on 17 of the 18 holes. This is a shotmaker's course and not one you should try and overpower. You will use virtually every club in your bag.
