Montague (7-0, 14-0) Beat Monroe St. Mary CC, 24-21, to win the division 6 state championship.

Offensive Starters Returning (2)
WR Anthony Root
RG Kevin Harrie
Defensive Starters Returning (4)
DT Chen Martinez
CB Anthony Root
CB Jake Snowdin
S  Jake Schmitt

Notes: Almost everybody is now gone from the last 2 state championship teams, the biggest hole is undoubtedly at Quarterback where Kody Cater has departed for the University of Cincinatti.  Root started in the slot last season and was effective both running and receiving the ball.  RC Twining might be the guy to try and fill Kater's shoes.  I can't see Montague being near as good as the past 2 seasons.

Muskegon Oakridge (5-2, 6-4), Lost to Muskegon Heights 19-13 in the first round of the playoffs.

Offensive Starters Returning (6)
QB Jamie Potts
RB Jacob Ferguson
TE Nick Eely
LG Hunter Dixon
C  Randy Brown
RG Brendon Cook

Defensive Starters Returning (6)
DT Hunter Dixon
DT Randy Brown
DE Nick Eely
LB Brendon Cook
CB Brody Benson
S  Jamie Potts

Other Key Returners
RB Joel Stewart
TE Mike White
TE Cameron Haynes
Notes: Good bet to get back on top of the WMC after having their 34 game conference winning streak snapped last season by Montague.  Potts is the best player in the conference and one of the best in West Michigan, he already has a state title under his belt from 2008.  Michael Shoop wiil be difficult to replace at Running Back, look for Potts to be the main ball carrier from the Quarterback position.  Oakridge shouild be solid on defense as well, Cook and Eely were very good as juniors.

Ravenna (5-2, 10-3), Lost to Traverse City St. Francis, 34-7, in the division 7 state semi-finals.

Offensive Starters Returning (5)
QB Ryan Hogan
RB Josh VanderWagon
LT Phillip Kantola
RG Brett Butler
RT Jake Heiss

Defensive Starters Returning (5)
DT Jake Heiss
DT Jimmy White
DE Phillip Kantola
LB Brett Butler
CB Josh VanderWagon

Notes: Head Coach Dusty Fairfield retired after last season and David Smith takes over, and he has his Quarterback and 3 offensive lineman back, but the bottom line is that you cannot replace Jamohn Martin.  Martin will also be sorely missed on defense, as he was a very good Linebacker.  This is still a playoff team, just maybe not as good as the last couple.

North Muskegon (4-3, 5-5), Lost to Morley-Stanwood 38-7 in first round of playoffs.

Offensive Starters Returning (7)
QB Drake Cooke
RB London Burris
WR Aaron Jones
LG DJ Berge
C  Josh Corgan
RG Zac Khan
RT Jon Ackley

Defensive Starters Returning (7)
DT DJ Berge
DT Jon Ackley
DE Robbie Wygant
LB Jesse Tromp
CB AJ Benedict
S  London Burris
S  Aaron Jones

Other Key Returners
FB Jesse Tromp
TE Omari Lewis
Notes: This team should challenge the big 3 of Montague, Oakridge and Ravenna, with 14 starters back including the very talented Burris and 4 offensive lineman.  The defense will be solid as well, led by Tromp and Wygant.  The schedule is not easy, not only do they play the big 3 in conference but open with Calvin Christian and finish with Muskegon Catholic.

Whitehall (3-4, 5-4), Back to Back 5-4 seasons.

Offensive Starters Returning (5)
FB Ryan Friend
TE Brandon DeLaRosa
LT D'mario Lewis
C  Keeghan Semans
RT Alex Witek
