One more win and the Tigers are going to the World Series.

Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander dominated the New York Yankees for nearly nine innings and led the Tigers to a 2-1 win in Game Three of the American League Championship Series to take a 3-0 series lead.

Verlander went 8 1/3 innings, giving up a solo home run to Eduardo Nunez in the ninth, but that was it.  He struck out only three, but he gave up only three hits and didn't walk anybody.

Delmon Young started the scoring with a solo home run in the fourth inning off Yankees starter Phil HughesMiguel Cabrera added the Tigers final run in the very next inning when he doubled in Quintin Berry.

Game Four is set for Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled for 8:07 p.m. Max Scherzer will start for Detroit while New York will respond with its ace, CC Sabathia.

Tickets to possible World Series games at Comerica Park will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. Ticket prices range from $110 to $930.
