The Detroit Tigers are getting some much-needed relief.Multiple reports say the Tigers have signed 38-year old right-handed reliever, Octavio Dotel.
Dotel has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with Detroit for an estimated $3.5 million.
Dotel has played in the major leagues for 13 season and has pitched for 12 different teams - the most of any player in MLB history. When he plays his first game for Detroit, he will be the first player ever to play for 13 MLB teams.
Dotel pitched for the Blue Jays and Cardinals last season, compiling a 5-4 record and a 3.50 ERA. In the postseason he had a 2.61 ERA with St. Louis in 12 relief appearances.
