Two down, five to go now for Tigers President, GM, and CEO Dave Dombrowski.
Dombrowski was able to sign pitchers Rick Porcello and Phil Coke to one-year deals today, avoiding arbitration with both players. Dombrowski has never gone to arbitration with any Tigers player in his time leading the Detroit ball club.
Terms of the deal were not released by the Tigers, but Porcello is expected to receive $3.1 million for next season while Coke will get $1.1 million.
The three other players that have filed for arbitration are IF/OF Don Kelly, RHP Max Scherzer, and OF Delmon Young. The deadline to sign a deal before going to arbitration is Friday.
