The Tigers concluded the first half of the Major League Baseball season with a five game win steak after beating the Kansas City Royals Sunday 7-1.
The five-game win streak is the longest for the Tigers in the 2012 season.
Max Scherzer pitched seven innings, giving up just one earned run for the win.
With the victory, the Tigers complete a sweep of the Royals.
Prince Fielder, Jhonny Peralta and Delmon Young added homeruns for Detroit in the win. Fielder will participate in Monday'sAll-Star Game in Kansas City.
Three Tigers: Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera and Fielder will play in theMLB All-Star Game on Tuesday.
