It was simply game three of spring training, but if felt bigger than that. All because of the Tigers designated hitter.

Miguel Cabrera made his spring training debut as the designated hitter today in the Tigers 6-2 win over the New York Yankees at Joker Marchant Stadium. Cabrera was playing his first game after being arrested and charged with a DUI on February 16. He went 0-2 with two groundouts and a walk.

Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer each threw two shutout innings, while five different hitters had RBI's for the Tigers including two by first baseman Ryan Strieby.
