Just when you think the Pistons are going big, they went small.
The Detroit Pistons selected University of Kentucky guard Brandon Knight with the 8th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Knight averaged 17.3 points and 4.2 assists in his freshman season at Kentucky, leading the Wildcats to the Final Four.
Many experts expected the Pistons to select a big forward with the eighth pick, but many of the players that were rumored to be of interest to the Pistons were already selected.
Cleveland selected Duke's Kyrie Irving with the first overall pick. Arizona's Derrick Williams went second to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
