Inside Lacrosse women's poll and what's next for state teams (April 16)

The top 10 teams in the Inside Lacrosse women’s media poll won all of their games last week, resulting in no change to the top half of the poll.

No. 1 Stony Brook and No. 2 Boston College remain the only unbeaten teams in Division I. No. 3 Maryland and No. 4 James Madison have one loss each while No. 5 North Carolina has three losses, including to Boston College and James Madison.

The Terps rallied from four goals down early in the second half Tuesday to beat No. 20 Princeton, 11-10, on Taylor Hensh’s free-position goal with 45 seconds left. They then rolled over Ohio State, 20-5, Sunday to remain unbeaten in the Big Ten with two games left — No. 15 Penn State Thursday and No. 7 Northwestern next week.

Towson won Colonial Athletic Association games over Elon and William & Mary. The Tigers appear headed for a showdown with James Madison for the CAA regular-season crown when they meet April 28 at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Loyola Maryland followed its 16-12 win over Navy with a 22-5 romp over another Patriot League opponent, Lafayette. The Greyhounds have three more conference games and if they win at least two, they would host the Patriot League tournament beginning May 1.

No team in the bottom half of the poll held its position as Navy hopped over Stanford to take the No. 11 spot. The Midshipmen rebounded form the loss to Loyola with a 20-7 win at Army West Point. They have three conference games remaining.
