No. 11 Syracuse scored six unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to down No. 3 Notre Dame, 10-4, in the Konica Minolta Big City Classic on Saturday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
After leading 3-1 at halftime, the Fighting Irish (10-3, 4-2 Big East Conference) were held to three shots on goal in the second half as the Orange (11-3, 5-1) put the game out of reach.
No. 5 Cornell 17, No. 12 Princeton 11: The Big Red (12-2, 6-0 Ivy League) took a 9-3 first-half lead and held off the Tigers (8-5, 3-3) in the first game of the Big City Classic.
Rob Pannell scored five goals and added four assists to lead Cornell.
No. 14 Yale 11, Harvard 10: The host Crimson (6-8, 2-4 Ivy League) fell short in its comeback effort against the Bulldogs (9-4, 4-2).
Yale came out of halftime with four unanswered goals to lead 9-5. But Harvard came back to cut the lead to two in the fourth quarter.
After the Bulldogs scored to lead by three, the Crimson scored twice in the final two minutes and trailed 11-10 with 30 seconds left, but couldn't get the tying goal.
No. 6 Denver 12, Michigan 4: The Pioneers (11-3, 6-1 Eastern College Athletic Conference) proved too much for the visiting Wolverines (1-13, 0-7).
After taking a 2-1 lead in the first quarter, Michigan allowed five unanswered goals as Denver took control.
No. 8 Ohio State 14, No. 20 Fairfield 8: The host Buckeyes (10-3, 5-2 ECAC) scored eight consecutive goals after trailing by one to take down the Stags (8-6, 4-3).
With the score tied heading into the fourth quarter, Fairfield allowed a 7-1 run to end the game.
No. 9 Penn State 16, Hofstra 7: Jack Forster had five goals and one assist to drive the visiting Nittany Lions (11-3, 6-0 Colonial Athletic Association) past the Pride (7-7, 2-4).
Penn State scored the most goals against Hofstra since 2010.
No. 10 Albany 21, Stony Brook 12: The Great Danes (11-4, 5-0 America East Conference) came back from a 5-1 deficit to beat the host Seawolves (7-8, 2-3).
Miles Thompson had 14 points (five goals, nine assists) to lead Albany.
No. 15 Drexel 14, High Point 8: The visiting Panthers (3-12) cut the lead to 7-5 before the Dragons (11-3) took control with a 6-0 run in the third quarter.
Ben McIntosh had four goals and two assists for Drexel.
No. 17 St. John's 15, Marquette 10: The host Red Storm (9-4) used a big early run to knock off the Golden Eagles (5-7).
St. John's scored six unanswered goals to take a five-goal lead with 5:45 remaining in the first half.
No. 19 Penn 10, Bellarmine 5: Led by Zack Loso's three goals, the Quakers (8-4) led 6-2 at halftime en route to a victory over the visiting Knights (7-7).
Towson 13, Saint Joseph's 6: The Tigers (8-7, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association) opened the game on a 5-0 run and never relinquished the lead to the visiting Hawks (5-11, 1-5).
Greg Cuccinello posted a career-high four goals to lead Towson.
Mount St. Mary's 14, Wagner 7: The Mount (6-9, 2-3 Northeast Conference) scored 13 unanswered goals to take down the host Seahawks (1-12, 0-5).
St. Mary's 10, York 9: The host Spartans (13-4) put together a 5-1 run in the fourth quarter, but their rally fell short against the Seahawks (11-6) in the Capital Athletic Conference semifinal.
Salisbury 20, Mary Washington 8: The visiting Sea Gulls (14-4) outscored the Eagles (9-7) in the second half 12-3 to advance in the CAC semifinal.
Gettysburg 12, McDaniel 10: Christian Dallmus allowed 12 goals on 16 shots as the visiting Green Terror (5-11, 2-6 Centennial Conference) fell to the Bullets (9-6, 5-3).
Widener 17, Hood 7: Josh Fox had six goals and three assists to lead the visiting Pride (10-5, 6-2 Commonwealth Conference) past the Blazers (3-14, 0-8).
Goucher 10, Merchant Marine 5: The host Gophers (8-7, 6-0 Landmark Conference) scored five unanswered goals and finished the game on a 6-1 run to beat the Mariners (8-7, 3-3).
