Junior midfielder Kurtis Kaunas scored three goals to guide host No. 20 Lehigh over Navy, 10-6, in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament on Tuesday night.
Attackmen Reid Weber, Dan Taylor and Patrick Corbett added two goals each for the Mountain Hawks (12-4). After the Midshipmen (4-9) got out to an early 2-1 lead, Lehigh went on a 4-0 run over the span of 21/2 minutes in the second quarter to go up, 5-1. Navy trailed only 6-5 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Mountain Hawks went on another 4-0 run to secure the victory.
Attackman Tucker Hull led Navy with three goals and was one of three players to score for the Mids. Attacker Sam Jones (Severna Park) added two goals for Navy, which committed 20 turnovers to Lehigh's 15.
Elizabethtown 10, Hood 2: The Blue Jays (7-7, 3-4 Centennial Conference) used an 8-0 run to cruise past the visiting Blazers (4-11, 1-6).
Hood scored the first goal of the game before Elizabethtown scored the next eight. The Blazers have lost seven of their past eight games.
Messiah 14, Stevenson 8: Attacker Lizzy Keeney (Dulaney) scored a game-high five goals as the host Falcons (9-6, 5-1 Mid-American Conference) defeated the Mustangs (10-5, 5-1).
Stevenson had its nine-game winning streak snapped. Messiah has won six in a row.
Christopher Newport 9, St.Mary's 8: Attacker Ashton Marshall scored four goals to lead the Captains (10-7) past the host Seahawks (8-9) in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
St. Mary's outshot Christopher Newport 31-19 in the loss.
Brown 13, No. 19 Bryant 11: The host Bears (7-6) jumped out to a 7-1 lead to start the game as they upset the Bulldogs (11-4).
Attackman Dylan Molloy had a game-high five goals for Brown, while attackman Shane Morrell led Bryant with three scores. After trailing 9-2 at the half, the Bulldogs went on several small runs in the second half, but could not come back.
No. 14 Yale 14, Quinnipiac 11: Attackmen Brandon Mangan and Conrad Oberbeck each had hat tricks, leading the Bulldogs (10-3) past the visiting Bobcats (5-8).
Yale started the game on a 7-1 run before Quinnipiac cut the deficit to 8-6 early in the third quarter.
Albany used six straight goals to make the score 15-7 with 5:37 remaining in the third quarter. Attackman Colin Clive led Siena with four goals.
