No. 1 Loyola (0-0)

Coming up: At Delaware, Saturday, 3 p.m.

Comment: The Greyhounds begin their defense of the 2012 national title against the Blue Hens, who have won just six of 29 contests in this series. Loyola must neutralize sophomore Tyler Barbarich, who has won 62.5 percent (25 of 40) of his faceoffs thus far.

No. 3 Maryland (1-0)

Coming up: At Hartford, Saturday, 1 p.m.

Comment: The Terps opened last season with a 12-6 home victory over the Hawks, the sides' only meeting. Maryland got goals from 14 different players in Tuesday's 23-6 demolition of Mount St. Mary's.

No. 5 Johns Hopkins (1-0)

Coming up: At Towson, Saturday, 7 p.m.

Comment: The Blue Jays are 14-3 all-time in February. Senior attackman Zach Palmer, who finished with a quiet two assists in the team's 15-6 thumping of Siena last Friday, recorded three goals and three assists in last year's meeting against the Tigers.

Mount St. Mary's (0-1)

Coming up: Vs. No. 17 Bucknell, Sunday, 1 p.m.

Comment: The Mountaineers have lost their past eight meetings against the Bison. Sophomore goalkeeper Adam Borgogelli, who is expected to get his first career start, could use some aid from the Mount's defense and faceoff unit.

Navy (1-0)

Coming up: Vs. Detroit, today, 7 p.m.

Comment: The host Midshipmen and visiting Titans will meet for the first time. Navy is seeking its first 2-0 start since 2009. Detroit finished 6-9 last season, its fourth in Division I.

Towson (0-1)

Coming up: Vs. No. 5 Johns Hopkins, Saturday, 7 p.m.

Comment: The Tigers have lost their past 17 games against the Blue Jays and are just 3-37 in the series. The offense needs more contributions from senior attackman Matt Hughes (one goal in last Friday's 9-7 loss at High Point), junior midfielder Andrew Hodgson (one goal) and sophomore midfielder Justin Mabus (one assist).

UMBC (0-0)

Coming up: At Robert Morris, Saturday, noon

Comment: The Retrievers dropped last season's contest against the Colonials, 10-8 — the first meeting between the teams. Robert Morris, which led the nation in scoring with 14.3 goals per game last season, scored just eight times in a one-goal loss to Bellarmine on Saturday.
