The Baltimore Sun's take: The Bobcats will rely heavily on Malory Brunett (River Hill), who was named 2011 CAC Rookie of the Year after scoring 36 goals, and Ali Kapustin (Marriots Ridge), who scored a team-leading 57 points (36 goals, 21 assists) last season. Cianna Lawrence (Century), another All-Conference pick, finished fifth in the CAC in caused turnovers (25) and 10th in ground balls (33).

Goucher

Coach: Katie Trainor (seventh season, 45-51)

2011 record: 8-8 overall, 1-3 league

Conference: Landmark Conference

The Baltimore Sun's take: The Gophers advanced to the league semifinals before losing to top-seeded Catholic. Leading scorer Hannah Khin returns after scoring 66 goals, and so does Erin Reifsnyder, who was second on the team with 37 goals.

Conference: Capital Athletic Conference

The Baltimore Sun's take: Senior Julia Banks (Francis Scott Key), a three-year starter, will give the Blazers a boost after finishing last season with 23 goals and five assists. Hood added seven recruits to its roster, which will provide much-needed depth.
