Salisbury men prevail in 2 OTs
Kylor Berkman took a pass from Bruce Richardson and scored the game-winner with 2:48 left in the second overtime in an NCAA Division III semifinal as host Salisbury beat Gettysburg, 11-10, before an announced 1,411 yesterday.
Joe Brody scored his second goal with 2:19 left in regulation to force overtime for the Bullets (17-3).
The Sea Gulls (21-0) will face SUNY Cortland (18-1) for the third straight year in the title game in Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Salisbury has reached the championship game 11 times.
The teams have split their recent meetings, with Salisbury winning last year, 15-9, and losing two years ago in overtime, 13-12.
Berkman, Richardson and Jake DeLillo each had two goals for Salisbury. Trip Dyer had a hat trick for Gettysburg.
The Bullets' Zachary Furshman made 14 saves, and Salisbury's Nick Fiorentino stopped 10 shots.
• SUNY Cortland 16, Ithaca 5 // Billy Fuchs and Joey Morgan each scored four goals as the host Red Dragons (18-1) won their 14th straight game. Matt Nelligan led the Bombers (17-3) with two goals and an assist.
• Hamilton 13, Franklin & Marshall 6 // Sarah Bray came off the bench to score a career- and game-high five goals to lead the Continentals (21-1) to their first NCAA Division III championship in Salem, Va. Brey scored four goals in the first half. Hamilton's lone loss was to the Diplomats (19-2) on March 19. Sarah Meisenberg led Franklin & Marshall with two goals.
