Towson women fall to Syracuse
Towson got a three-goal effort from Hillary Fratzke in its first-round game against Syracuse yesterday afternoon. However, the fifth-seeded Orange (17-2) used a strong shooting effort to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals with a 21-9 victory over the Tigers (13-6) at the Carrier Dome.
• Salisbury 18, Catholic 7 // Beth Rhodey had five goals to power the host Sea Gulls (22-0) past the Cardinals (17-5) in an NCAA Division III tournament quarterfinal.
• Washington College 12, Lynchburg 9 // Chris Read (Boys' Latin) scored five goals and had two assists to power the host Shoremen (14-3) past the Hornets (16-3) in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
