No. 19 Towson (4-4, 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association) at No. 23 Delaware (5-3, 2-3 CAA)
When: Saturday, noon
Site: Delaware Stadium, Newark, Del.
TV: NBC Sports Network
Series: Delaware leads 9-4
What’s at Stake: Momentum. Momentum. Momentum. Towson might have saved its season last weekend by upsetting CAA co-leader Villanova, 49-35, on the road. But once again the Tigers face a nationally ranked team away from home as they continue fighting for a playoff spot. Delaware should have plenty of confidence, having beaten Towson the last five times and with an overall margin of victory of 24.6 points in the series.
Key Matchup: No doubt the Tigers will be looking to run the ball with All-American Terrence West, but he might need some help against Delaware’s run defense, which is ranked No. 1 in the CAA (115.2 ypg). That help could come through the air. While the Blue Hens are stout against the run, they are second-to-last in pass defense in the conference (255.4 ypg). Having success in the passing game will force the Delaware defense to play back from the line of scrimmage, allowing West more room to make plays.
Player to Watch: Towson quarterback Grant Enders is the reigning CAA Offensive Player of the Week after completing 16 of 28 passes for 269 yards and four touchdowns against Villanova. He also rushed for 122 yards and another score. If he can duplicate that performance, the Tigers have a good chance to pick up their second road win.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
