New Mexico coach suspended one game

New Mexico coach Mike Locksley has been suspended one game and will miss 10 days as punishment for striking an assistant coach.

"I showed poor leadership and I won't let it happen again," Locksley said.

Receivers coach J.B. Gerald told police Locksley struck him during a Sept. 20 staff meeting, splitting his lip. Locksley denies throwing a punch.
