Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe has spoken to the family of former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux about a possible transfer to a Football Championship Subdivision team with no scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.

Perrilloux was kicked off the defending national championship team after repeated off-the-field problems.

Crowe, who said he had had been looking for a transfer to give the Gamecocks some experience at the position, said he was still performing his "due diligence" and hadn't talked to Perrilloux yet.

• More college football // Former Georgia Tech quarterback Joe Hamilton was charged with marijuana possession, driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run early yesterday, less than a week after he was hired as the school's assistant director of player personnel.

• College lacrosse // Loyola women's coach Kerri O'Day announced she will not return next season. O'Day, who took over in 2004, has been a part of the program for the past 15 years as a player, assistant coach and head coach. She finished with a 34-48 record. Assistants Kristin Hagert and Jessican Onheiser also will not return.

• Track and field // A judge denied bond for former 100-meter world-record holder Tim Montgomery on federal heroin distribution charges. Montgomery appeared in U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge F. Bradford Stillman. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and requested a jury trial, which the judge set for July 9.

• Soccer // Cross-dressing prostitutes lied when they accused AC Milan striker Ronaldo of using drugs and having sex with them during a motel encounter last week, police said. The prostitutes told police they lied because Ronaldo did not want to pay them after finding out they were men, police inspector Carlos Augusto Nogueira said.

• College basketball // West Virginia coach Bob Huggins' new contract stipulates he can be fired for substance abuse or habitual intoxication affecting his job performance. The university released details of the contract Huggins signed Friday.
