Towson's Pat Skerry has contract extended through 2019-2020 season

Towson has extended men's basketball coach Pat Skerry's contract an additional year, through the 2019-2020 season, the school announced Friday.

Skerry signed an extension through 2018-19 before last season. The terms of his contract will remain the same with the additional year being added on.

The Tigers are coming off their best season as a Division I team, having finished 25-11 and 13-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Towson lost in the conference semifinals but won two road gamesin the Postseason Tournament, beating USC Upstate and East Tennessee State.

“Our men’s basketball program has excelled under the leadership of Coach Skerry and we’re thrilled to extend his contract through the 2019-20 season,” Towson athletic director Tim Leonard said in a news release. “Pat and his staff have done an extraordinary job recruiting and developing the type of student-athletes that work tremendously hard both on the court and in the classroom. Pat and his wife Kristen, along with the entire staff, have truly embraced being part of the Towson family and community. I couldn’t be more excited about the future of our men’s basketball program moving forward under his leadership.”
