A three-year starter, Pente got a series of impressive wins at the prestigious War on the Shore wrestling tournament last weekend to win the 132-pound championship, helping his team come within 2.5 points of winning the overall title. Seeded No. 4, Pente rolled through the first two rounds, winning by technical fall (18-1) and by fall (1:10). Then he met the No. 1 seed, Maryland state champion Cameron Harrell, in the semifinal, winning, 4-3. And then met the No. 2 seed in the final, winning the title, 4-2.
