In an 18-0 win over DeMatha at the Patriot Classic Friday night, the senior defensive tackle had one of the best games Cardinals coach Donald Davis said he's ever seen by a defensive lineman. Holder, 6-foot-1, 270 pounds, had 17 tackles, including one on the first play of the game. He also had three sacks and, including the sacks, five tackles for a loss. "He absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage," Davis said. "It seemed like he was in on every tackle." He has 27 tackles and five sacks in the first two games. Holder, who has a 3.5 GPA, has drawn interest from Division II Charleston, but Davis said his performance against DeMatha should draw more attention.
Others considered: Jamal Chappell, Poly, football; Kevin Corbusier, Loyola, cross country; Aaron Jones, Catonsville, football; Dylan Lopez, Century, football; Cody Niedermeier, Broadneck, soccer.
