The senior guard enjoyed a memorable week, capped on Friday when he hit a second straight game-winning shot in the closing seconds that led the No. 3 Patriots (19-6) to a 42-41 win against No. 1 St. Frances.
Elliott led John Carroll to three wins last week, averaging 19.3 points and 4.8 assists. On Jan. 14, he scored 16 points and added three rebounds, two assists and a steal in a 39-37 win over McDonogh. In the following Wednesday's 54-52 win against Glenelg Country, he finished with 27 points — including the deciding jumper at the buzzer — and added five assists, one steal and one blocked shot. In Friday's upset of the No. 1 Panthers, Elliott hit another jumper with 3.8 seconds left to complete a 15-point, seven-assist and four-rebound performance.
For the season, Elliott is averaging 15 points, 4.1 rebounds and assists, and 1.4 steals. A team captain, Elliott maintains a 3.2 grade point average and is still weighing his college options.
