•Miami, Monday night: Maryland has eyed a rematch since dropping a 26-20 game to Hurricanes in which Terps DBs Dexter McDougle and Kenny Tate got embarrassed by a late TD pass last season. That was before Miami's program was engulfed by news of a booster bearing gifts.

•Temple (Sept. 24): Did the Owls lose their mojo when they lost coach Al Golden to Miami? New coach Steve Addazio still has talented RB Bernard Pierce and a solid defense.
•Towson: (Oct. 1): Last contest of four-game homestand to open the season for Terps, who have only four true road games. Nice scheduling if you can get it.
•At Georgia Tech (Oct. 8): Due to fortunate scheduling, Terps managed to avoid Paul Johnson's dangerous offenses the past few years under now-departed QB Joshua Nesbitt. Tech is picked fourth in its division by ACC media.
•Clemson (Oct. 15): There's a new quarterback (Tajh Boyd) and a new offensive coordinator (Chad Morris) but the Tigers have a way of dashing their large fan base's hopes, don't they?
•At Florida State (Oct. 22): Circle this one, the toughest game on the schedule. Bobby Bowden was fun to cover but, dadgummit, Jimbo Fisher sure can recruit.
•Boston College (Oct. 29): Media members are disappointed in seasons when the Eagles play in College Park. That's because Maryland doesn't serve creamy clam chowder the way BC does at its stadium.
•Virginia (Nov. 5): It's sure not Alabama-Auburn or Army-Navy but it's still a rivalry game of a sort, right? Cavaliers coach Mike London hopes to keep program on an upward arc.
•Notre Dame (Nov. 12) in Landover, Md.: Former Maryland athletic director Debbie Yow left the program this parting gift — a prime-time, NBC matchup with the Irish. It will be just the second football game between the schools.
•At Wake Forest (Nov. 19): Terps hope to be in the thick of Atlantic Division race when they play the Demon Deacons, picked last in the division after 1-7 conference season in 2010.
•At N.C. State (Nov. 26): Quarterback Russell Wilson is gone but Yow is still there and would like to avenge Wolfpack's loss to her former school in 2010.
