Ohio Northern 76, Hood 74, OT: Justin Stone scored a career-high 23 points and Cameron Cook hit five 3-pointers but it was not enough as the Blazers (0-1) suffered an overtime loss to the Polar Bears (1-0) in the opening round of the Washington Area Credit Union Tournament hosted by Washington & Jefferson on Saturday evening.

Ohio Northern's Branden Rushton was the hero for the Polar Bears as he scored the game-winning basket with two seconds left in overtime.

Catholic 65, St. Mary's 62: Trailing the Seahawks (0-1) by one at halftime, the visiting Cardinals (2-0) outscored St. Mary's 38-24 in the second half to earn the win in the Hoopsville National Invitational Classic.

The victory is Catholic's second straight over a nationally ranked Division III opponent in as many days after beating Transylvania in the opener on Friday. Four Cardinals scored in double figures, led by Chris Kearney with 19 points.

McDaniel 92, Pittsburgh-Titusville 53: The Green Terror outscored the Panthers 28-10 over the final 9:09 of the first half to take a 41-25 lead into the break and used that momentum to win the consolation game of the Greg Richards Memorial Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Allegheny.

Tyler Rudd (Glen Burnie) led the Green Terror (1-1) with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Mark Houston paced the Panthers (0-2) with game highs of 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Stevenson 82, Gallaudet 65: Brett Burrier scored 22 as the Mustangs (1-0) defeated the Bison (0-1) in the inaugural Hoopsville National Invitational Classic.

Johns Hopkins 58, Bluffton 56: The Blue Jays rallied from a seven-point deficit in the final three minutes to beat the Beavers in the consolation game of the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Memorial Tournament at Case Western. The Blue Jays get their first win of the season as they even their record at 1-1, while the Beavers slip to 0-2.


Loyola 68, UMBC 55: Retrievers guard Lauren Chase finished with double-figure points for the fourth straight contest, scoring a game-high 18, but UMBC shot 29.2 percent from the field in the second half, allowing the Greyhounds (1-2) to come away with a road victory.

Nicole Krusen and Katie Sheahin each finished with double doubles as four Loyola players finished with 10 points or more.

Navy 64, Saint Peter's 53: The Mids (1-2) shot more than 40percent from the field in each half and held the Peacocks (0-3) to 34percent for the game as Navy got its first win.

UMES 66, Elizabeth City S.U. 62: With the Lady Hawks down by two points with 24 seconds remaining, Karona Roach made a 3-pointer to give UMES the lead for good over the Lady Vikings as the Lady Hawks earned their first victory of the season.

UMES improves to 1-1, while Elizabeth City falls to 3-1.

Bowie State 57, Florida Southern 54: The Moccasins' bid for their first win of the season came down to the final two minutes against the Bulldogs (2-0), but Bowie State had just enough to hold off Florida Southern (0-2) and win the first game of the District of Columbia Classic.

Bria Johnson of Bowie State led all scorers with 13 points, and the Bulldogs got 11 points from Channell Mackey and Jasmine McIntosh.

Hood 52, Randolph 49: The Blazers (1-0) defeated the Wildcats (1-1) in the squad's first game of the season. It was Hood's first opening-game win since the 2010-11 season and the first of the Jack Mehl era.

Frostburg State 56, Immaculata 49: After battling in an even first half, the Bobcats (1-1) came out with a strong second half to down the Mighty Macs (0-2) in the consolation game of the 10th annual Jim Crawley Tournament.

Elaina Hummel, who won All-Tournament team honors, led all scorers with 20 points. She also contributed nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Widener 80, McDaniel 69: A 7-0 burst midway through the second half helped the visiting Pride (2-0) regain control and defeat the Green Terror in the championship game of the 2012 McDaniel Tip-Off Tournament.

Steph Perez scored 20 points for the second straight game to lead McDaniel (1-1), giving her a tournament-record 43 points in the first two games of the campaign.

Johns Hopkins 76, Mary Baldwin 32: Blue Jays Alex Vassila and Ciara McCullagh combined for 30 points and 30 rebounds to lead Hopkins past the Fighting Squirrels in the opening game of the Mike Durgala Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Salisbury 90, PSU-Abington 54: In the Gwynedd-Mercy College Tip-Off Tournament consolation game, 12 Sea Gulls scored against the Nittany Lions (0-1) as Salisbury (1-1) cruised to victory.

St. Mary's 96, CCNY 40: Seahawks guard Joanna Murray scored 18 points as St. Mary's (1-0) breezed by the visiting Beavers (0-2) in the Seahawks Classic tournament.
