State hoops: Loyola women fall to Iona, 67-61

A 3-pointer by Alyssa Sutherland cut the deficit to two for the visiting Loyola women's basketball team, but two trips to the free-throw line by Iona (15-11, 10-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) sealed the win, 67-61, Friday night.

Katie Sheahin led Loyola (10-16, 5-10) with 14 points.

Gettysburg 56, Johns Hopkins 43: The visiting Blue Jays (16-11) led by one at the break, but the Bullets (20-6) outscored them by 14 points in the second half of a Centennial Conference semifinal.


Dickinson 73, Johns Hopkins 64: The Blue Jays (16-10) led for most of the game, but Adam Honig made a jumper to give Dickinson its second lead of the game, 64-62, with 2:07 left and the Red Devils (19-7) never trailed again in a Centennial Conference semifinal at Franklin & Marshall.
