Shawntae Payne scored a career-high 18 points, leading four players in double figures as Coppin State extended its season-best winning streak to six with an 80-77 victory over host Morgan State on Saturday at Hill Field House.
The Eagles (13-10, 8-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) won for the 11th time in their past 12 games. Crystal Whittington had 13 points, Leola Spotwood scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Jeanine Manley added 11 points for the Eagles.
The Eagles, who outscored Morgan State 25-9 from the free-throw line, made five of eight down the stretch to hold off the Bears.
Morgan State (6-16, 3-6) was led by Tracey Carrington, who scored 14 points, while Amarah Williams added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Bears.
Loyola 71, Rider 57: Freshman Kara Marshall scored a career-high 28 points and junior Katie Sheahin added 19 for the host Greyhounds (10-13, 6-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Sheahin also had two steals, giving the junior 250 in her career and tying her with Lorrie Schenning for the most in school history.
UMBC 66, Maine 44: Erin Brown led four Retrievers (12-12, 6-5 America East) in double figures with 18 points. The visiting Black Bears (6-18, 3-7) were led by Samantha Baranowski with nine points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
Navy 63, Lafayette 47: The host Mids (12-10, 5-3 Patriot League) had several scoring runs to build a double-digit lead over the Leopards (8-15, 2-6). Jade Geif led Navy with 14 points.
St. Francis (Pa.) 59, Mount St. Mary's 51: Sandra Andresson made two free throws for the Mount (8-14, 4-7 Northeast Conference) to bring the score within two in the final minute. The visiting Red Flash (9-13, 7-4) widened its lead with four free throws from Alexa Hayward and a layup by Alli Williams.
Howard 49, UMES 36: The visiting Lady Bison (16-7, 8-2 MEAC) were led by Saadia Doyle (12 points, 11 rebounds).
Adobi Agbasi had eight rebounds, seven points and a game-high four blocks for the Hawks (7-13, 4-4).
Johns Hopkins 71, Swarthmore 42: A layup by Alex Vassila gave the visiting Blue Jays (19-2, 14-2 Centennial Conference) the lead with 15 minutes left in the first half. Katie Lytle had 17 points for the Garnet (8-12, 6-10).
Stevenson 60, Hood 43: Sam Murray had 13 points and Amanda Craig 12, and the host Mustangs (9-12, 5-8 Capital Athletic Conference) won their third straight.
Dyana Prater had a game-high 14 points for the Blazers (6-15, 2-11), who have lost seven of the past 10.
Washington College 73, Dickinson 63: Latisha Pledger had her 11th double double of the season, 16 points and 13 rebounds, to power the host Shorewomen (12-9, 7-9 Centennial) past the Red Devils (2-19, 2-14).
Marymount 75, St. Mary's 57: The host Saints (9-12, 6-6 CAC) had four players in double digits and led by as many as 22 points. Katelyn Fischer had a game-high 18 points.
Raven Owens scored 10 points for the Seahawks (8-14, 6-7 CAC).
Cabrini 62, Notre Dame (Md.) 45: India Scott earned her 11th double double (20 points, 15 rebounds) in the loss for the host Gators (0-18, 0-13 Colonial States Athletic Conference). Brittany Sandone had 16 points for the Cavaliers (9-13, 7-6).
Haverford 61, McDaniel 43: Rachael Rybak led the Green Terror (9-12, 6-11 Centennial) with 16 points in the loss. Dominique Meeks scored 17 points for the Fords (15-6, 10-6 Centennial).
Mary Washington 52, Salisbury 23: The Sea Gulls (11-9, 8-4 CAC) held the Eagles (21-0, 12-0) to their second-lowest output of the season. Freshman Anna Hackett led Salisbury with five points.
Wesley 56, Frostburg State 54: A layup by Simone Wise brought the visiting Bobcats (5-17, 3-10 CAC) within one in the final two minutes, but a free throw by Heather Fuller sealed the win for the Wolverines (6-15, 3-9 CAC).
