With first place on the line, Penn State (9-3, 4-0 Colonial Athletic Association) used a 6-1 run to take a four-goal lead in the third quarter that it would not relinquish en route to a 10-8 win over visiting Towson on Saturday.
The Tigers (7-6, 3-1) entered the match on a four-game winning streak but couldn't hold off a five-goal effort by the Nittany Lions' TJ Sanders.

Dave Brown tied the game for UMBC before Pat Young put the Retrievers on top with 2:39 left.
Army 14, Navy 7: Sam Jones scored his 100th career goal, but the Midshipmen (3-9, 1-5 Patriot League) were outshot 25-12 in the first half as the visiting Black Knights (7-4, 3-2) dominated.
Jones finished with two goals and one assist for Navy.
Salisbury 15, St. Mary's 4: The Sea Gulls (13-3, 6-0 Capital Athletic Conference) outscored the Seahawks (9-5, 4-1) 9-1 in the second half to remain undefeated in conference play.
Zach Hill and Wade Korvin scored three goals for Salisbury.
McDaniel 14, Muhlenberg 13, 2OT: Matt Dupras scored the sudden-death goal 2:48 into the second overtime to push the Green Terror (5-9, 2-4 Centennial Conference) past the Mustangs (6-7, 2-4).
Goucher 11, Catholic 10, OT: Sam Morgan scored 42 seconds into overtime to lead the host Gophers (6-7, 4-0 Landmark Conference) over the Cardinals (5-8, 0-3) to remain tied for first place.
Catholic was down two men from a pair of 60-second penalties assessed with 0:17 remaining in regulation.
Alvernia 9, Hood 3: Brian Ray scored four goals to lift the Crusaders (5-9, 1-4 Middle Atlantic Conference) over the host Blazers (3-12, 0-6).
Dickinson 15, Washington College 10: The Shoremen (10-2, 4-2 Centennial) were shut out in the second quarter as the visiting Red Devils (12-0, 5-0) rolled.
Frostburg State 12, Marymount 6: The host Saints (7-5, 0-4 CAC) were routed by the Bobcats (9-5, 1-3) in their home finale.
Stevenson 17, Albright 6: Billy Burgoyne scored three of his five goals in the second quarter to help give the Mustangs (12-2, 5-0 MAC) a 13-3 halftime lead in their rout of the visiting Lions (9-2, 3-1).
Albany 9, UMBC 6: The visiting Great Danes (8-4, 3-1 America East Conference) outscored the Retrievers (8-5, 2-2) in the second half 7-3 to take sole possession of first place.
Shannon Harkey led UMBC with three goals.
St. Mary's 17, Frostburg State 2: The Bobcats (5-7, 1-4 CAC) were dismantled by the host Seahawks (6-9, 2-3), as they were held scoreless for more than 48 minutes.
