Bollinger Trail hike
Saturday: A 6-mile hike in a remote area on the northeastern side of Prettyboy Reservoir on fire roads with some hills and one stream crossing. Pace will be 2.5 mph. For time and other information, call 410-374-4879 before 8 p.m. Carpool cost: $2.
Next Sunday: Treat your dog to a fun, moderate Loch Raven Reservoir hike. Mostly flat with a few rocky hills. Bring a snack and water for you and the dog. Hikers with no dogs also welcome. For time and other information, call 410-299-8833.
Dec. 12: The Maryland Boat Act Advisory Committee will meet to review proposed regulatory requests for 2014; accept recommendations from the nominating committee for the office of chairman, vice chairman, and officer at large; and be briefed on proposed legislation affecting boating in Maryland. Winter solstice hike
Dec. 21: Celebrate the shortest day of the year with a free hike from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baldwin in Baltimore County. Meet in the Sweet Air parking lot, 2840 Dalton Bevard Road. Preregistration is required. Inclement weather will result in postponement.
