Hurd 5K Run

Nov. 9: The Fifth Annual Heather L. Hurd 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk will take place at 9 a.m. at Harford Community College. The race honors the memory of Heather L. Hurd, a history major at Harford Community College from 1999 to 2003, who was killed in 2008 by a distracted driver who was texting. Summer 3-D fun shoots

Hunter-safety course

September: The Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association will conduct a hunter safety course on club grounds at 3400 Northwind Road in Carney. Registration will be Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon; classes will be Sept. 11, 12, 18 and 19 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; and testing will be Sept. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
