Boater safety

Waterfowl regulations

Aug. 19: The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed late-season waterfowl hunting regulations at 7 p.m. at Chesapeake College. Residents who are unable to attend may comment by email, letter, fax, phone, or on the DNR Wildlife & Heritage website after the proposals are announced in early August.

Turkey shoot

'Streak' Thru Aberdeen'

Sept. 6: The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation will host its inaugural "Streak Thru Aberdeen" 7K Run at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, the anniversary of Cal Ripken Jr. breaking Lou Gehrig's streak of consecutive baseball games played. Proceeds will support Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation programs, which help build character and teach life lessons to underserved youth in distressed communities through sports-themed programming.
