Monday, July 22: Jim Thompson, a fisheries biologist with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Fish Passage Program, will speak at a meeting of the Perry Hall Chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishing Association about the unnecessary dams that were removed and their effect on spawning fish. Saturday, July 27: The Perry Hall chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishing Association will hold its third annual Family Fishing Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the C Pavilion at Wilson Point Park at 950 Beech Drive in Middle River. Games and activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a fishing tournament from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Paid reservations ($5 for adults, $10 for family) are required no later than Saturday. 'Streak' Thru Aberdeen'

Proceeds will support Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation programs, which help build character and teach life lessons to underserved youth in distressed communities through sports-themed programming.
