Tuesday: Fisherman, author and blogger Shawn Kimbro will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Northwest chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishing Association, talking about tips and tactics in his new book, "The Right Stuff." Tuesday: Pro-Formance Fishing Team, affiliated with B.A.S.S. and Maryland Bass Nation, is seeking additional members and will hold an introductory meeting 6 p.m. at Italia's Corner Cafe in Glen Burnie. The club is primarily based in Glen Burnie and Annapolis but has membership throughout the region. It fishes 12 club tournaments a year plus others and participates in MBN and other tournaments. It is seeking boaters but also can accommodate a few riders. It welcomes new anglers who want to learn how to fish for bass competitively in a friendly environment. July 19: BattleFrog, an obstacle-course race series founded and designed by Navy SEALs, will stop at Tomahawk MX in Hedgesville, W.Va. Nov. 1: The Orioles, OriolesREACH and manager Buck Showalter and his wife, Angela, are joining forces with KidsPeace to host the fifth annual Trick-or-Trot 5K/1-Mile Walk, a Halloween-themed race to benefit children in foster care. The race will begin and end at Oriole Park. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for top runners, age-group winners, fundraising teams and best costumes.
