Turkey shoot

Join a B.A.S.S. club

Tuesday, April 15: The Pro-Formance Fishing Team, a member of the Maryland Bass Nation, is seeking additional members and will hold an introductory meeting at 6 p.m. at Hellas Restaurant in Millersville. The club is primarily based in Glen Burnie and Annapolis. but has membership throughout the region. The club is fishing 12 club tournaments this year and participates in MBN and other tournaments. It is seeking boaters but can accommodate a few riders, too. It welcomes new anglers who want to learn how to fish for bass competitively in a friendly environment. Fish and the thermocline

April 21: Capt. Brian Mayer of Marauder Charters will speak at a seminar hosted by the Broadneck/

Magothy River chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishing Association. He'll discuss how fish use the thermocline and salinity break as structure. Spring Sailboat Show

April 25-27: The in-water Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show will feature more than 80 new and previously owned sailboats, plus equipment, electronics, clothing and accessories at more than 100 on-land nautical exhibits and pro surf shops. Wetlands cleanup

April 26: The National Aquarium and National Parks Conservation Association will hold a wetlands cleanup from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. NOOD Regatta

May 2-4: More than 1,000 sailors will compete on the Chesapeake Bay as the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Regatta series stops at Annapolis Yacht Club. Top sailors from across the country will compete against local skippers for the overall prize of a trip to the British Virgin Islands to race in the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Championship Regatta. Thompson Run/Walk

May 3: The 3rd Annual Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8 a.m. at Harford Community College at 401 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air. The race honors the memory of Adam Thompson, a first-year HCC student who was killed in an automobile accident in 2011. Proceeds will benefit The Adam Thompson Memorial Nursing Scholarship at HCC and The Adam Thompson Memorial Education Scholarship at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health.
