Wednesday, March 20: Mark Fondroff and Brenda Foster will share their knowledge of smallmouth bass fishing on the Potomac River at a meeting of Maryland Trout Unlimited from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Towson Presbyterian Church. The public is welcome.
Terrapins and the Bay
Thursday, March 21: Will Williams, an educator at Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center, will give a free talk about the Chesapeake Bay, its surroundings and the terrapins that inhabit the local waters. 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Terrapin Adventures, 8600 Foundry St., Savage. Light refreshments will be served.
March 27: The Marine Corps Marathon, which will be run Oct. 27, in Arlington, Va., and around Washington, is opening public registration at noon at marinemarathon.com. Registration for the third-largest U.S. marathon is $99. Active duty and reservists have until midnight next Sunday to receive a 15 percent registration discount.
