Annual stream survey
Wednesday: Mark Staley of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Gunpowder riverkeeper Theaux Le Gardeur will discuss the results of the DNR's annual stream survey and report on the state of the Gunpowder River. SPURs 5K Run/Walk

Md. Half Marathon
Registration is open for the fifth annual Maryland Half Marathon to benefit the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. The race will be May 11 in the Maple Lawn community of Howard County. The cost of registration will be $75 until Jan. 31, $85 in February and $90 from March 1 to May 11.
