Jake "The Snake" Smith's Baltimore Boxing Promotions will put on eight Olympic-style amateur bouts in a parking lot at M&T Bank Stadium starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The "Fed Hill Fight Fest" will take place in lot N along Ostend Street beside the stadium. Smith, a long-time fight promoter and former boxer out of Arbutus, is bringing several of his fighters from the Baltimore Boxing Club.
Maryland heavyweight championship, senior division, in what could be one of the night's more entertaining bouts. Traband, who has been boxing for only seven months, outslugged Cornellius in April in his first amateur bout.
"We brawled from beginning to end," Traband, a contractor who grew up in Bainesville, said of that fight.
In the sixth fight of the card, Chase Carusso, who lives in Federal Hill, will face Justin Knight of West Virginia in the Fed Hill Fight Fest heavyweight championship bout.
Smith said he is hoping for a crowd of close to 2,000. "We'll have a beer truck and four food vendors," he said. "It'll be a festival atmosphere."
Working the corner at some point in the card will be Kevin Rooney, Mike Tyson's long-time trainer, and Vinny Pazienza, who won world titles at lightweight and middleweight.
