Saturday: Syracuse Silver Knights @ Blast, 7:35 p.m.
Site: 1st Mariner Arena
Outlook: The Blast (5-1) returns home following a 5-0 road trip that put the team in first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League's Eastern Division. Up first Friday is the high-powered Missouri Comets (5-3), which boasts three of the league's top five scorers, led by Brazilian native Geison (13 goals, 13 assists for 31 points). Balanced scoring and sound defense were the keys to the Blast's success on the road. Veteran goalkeeper Sagu has a league-best 8.21 points against average, and forward Max Ferdinand (five goals, five assists for team-high 16 points) tops six players with 10 or more points. On Saturday, the Blast will look to avenge its embarassing 18-7 home-opening loss to Syrcause (3-5), which has dropped five of its last six after starting the season at 2-0. The Blast, which came away with an 18-10 win at Syracuse on Nov. 27, has a 2 1/2-game lead over second place Rochester (3-4) in the division.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
