For a second straight year, Blast veteran defender Patrick Healey has been named to the U.S. Futsal men's national team, which will compete in the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England, in June.
The U.S., which comes in as the defending champion, will open play against Qatar on June 5, then take on Cyprus on June 6 before closing out the tournament against England on June 8.
Last year, the U.S. went 3-0 against England, Malaysia and Poland, and outscored the three opponents by a combined 10 goals.
After the Four Nations Tournament, the U.S. will play two friendlies against France in Milwaukee on June 12 and 14. Healey, a former soccer standout at Calvert Hall and Towson University, just finished his sixth season with the Blast, which just left the Major Indoor Soccer League for a new, yet-to-be-named league. He's one of two defenders on the 14-player roster representing the U.S. next month.
