The Orioles got career years at the plate from center fielder Adam Jones and catcher Matt Wieters in 2012. Jones, 27, set new highs in batting average (.287), doubles (39) and homers (32), and his 82 runs batted in were one fewer than in 2011. Wieters, 26, had career highs in homers (23) and runs batted in (83), though his batting average (.249) took a bit of a dip. Their numbers could be even better in 2013 if they continue to develop as hitters, giving the Orioles two dangerous hitters in the middle of the order.
