The Ravens and the Eagles kick off their preseason schedules Thursday night with an exhibition at Lincoln Financial Field that will mostly be meaningless when the scores are tallied up at the end of the evening.
Everybody knows -- well, maybe except for Steve Spurrier -- that the outcome doesn’t really matter, and that we will be treated to very vanilla football because the teams are saving the good stuff for September.
But that doesn’t mean there won’t be intriguing storylines to follow once the starters check out in the second quarter. We will have rookies such as Pernell McPhee and Tyrod Taylor trying to impress the coaching staff, youngsters such as Justin Harper and Davon Drew trying to play their way off the practice squad and rehabbed players such as Sergio Kindle and maybe Domonique Foxworth returning to live game action.
Since you aren’t going to brag to your friends from Philly about a big preseason win for the Ravens, what moral victories would you like to see? What will make you feel good about where this team stands?
Your turn: What do you want to see from John Harbaugh's mighty men of Baltimore in Thursday night's preseason opener?
